DS1 win from Den Helder
STOL-Grasshoppers DS1
played a home game on Tuesday night against Den Helder.
The supporters saw the home team win. After a halftime score of 35-27, the game
ended at 74-53 for coach Burhan Alibegovic’s team.

Dijkman made a creditable comback after 2 ½ months
recovering from an injury, but Corine Manuputty was
not able to play due to an injury.
Ex-Grasshoppers,
Randell van der Lee, opened the match with a 3-pointer and free throw, but was
directly answered by scores from Eline and Karin (9-4 after 4 minutes). STOL-Grasshoppers
were finding the basket in this period, and took a lead of 22-11.
Den Helder came back strong in the 2nd period with the help of
Laura Kooy, who scored 12 points in this quarter. For Grasshoppers, it’s Kelli
who is scoring (8 points) while Eline is strong in the rebounding.
Den Helder is able to come closer in the 3rd period, but after
a 3-pointer by Karin, 2 shots by Kelli, 4 of 4 free throws by Rianne and Julia,
a lay-up by Janine, and 2x a 3-pointer by Karin and Sonja, STOL-Grasshoppers
widen their lead to 56-32.
In the 4th period,
junior Evelien Messemaker makes her debut. By then, the match is already won (70-40), but
Den Helder is able to lessen the pain a bit when the game
ends at 74-53.
