STOL-Grasshoppers won the last competition match of the season in Groningen by 85-74 from Celeritas Donar. The Katwijkers reached the 6th place in the play-offs and, therefore, play against Wereldtickets.nl Leiderdorp (and not Binnenland Rotterdam).

The offensive plays by Grasshoppers did not go well. In total they missed 24 lay-ups and open shots under the board. After an equally scoring first quarter (15-17), the Katwijk’s formation took a maximum lead of 14 points before halftime. By this time, Missy had shot 4 successful 3-pointers.

In the 3rd quarter, their lead had shrunk to 3 points (60-63), but in the last period Heather Stec was unstoppable for the home team. Thanks to 8 of her 12 free throws, the American had a big influence on the eventual win.

“And now the play-offs.” says Bo Melis after the game. “We had two goals, to win and to play a good match. We reached goal 1, but goal 2 only partially.”
