STOL-Grasshoppers DS1 book their 3rd home win in a row

Last Saturday, Bo Melis’ team won an exciting match in Cleijn Duin against Europsped Twente.

The 1^st half is back and forth scoring in a high tempo. Eurosped uses the fast break to take a small lead. In the 5^th minute, STOL-Grasshoppers take over the lead via 2 3-pointers from Rianne (16-14). Both teams make a lot of scores, even though the game is not always well-played. Heather is again sharp under both boards. STOL-Grasshoppers hold the lead, but are not able to widen it. With the scoreboard at 37-29 via a 3-pointerf from Missy, Eurosped is still able to tie the score. Myrthe Beld, playing exceptionally well for the team from Tubbergen, brings the score at halftime with a buzzer beater to 49-49.

The 2^nd half begins as the 1^st, a lot of scoring in a high tempo. STOL-Grasshoppers widen their lead to 69-60 in the 5^th minute, but Eurosped recuperates and take over the lead to 74-77 at the beginning of the 4^th period. Ingrid goes to the bench with a back injury, and the question is who can keep up the high tempo the longest. In the first instance, it seems to be Eurosped, with 74-82 and 8 minutes to play. STOL-Grasshoppers strengthen their defence this period, and a well-playing Karin Kuijt shoots 5 points in a row to bring the home team again in the lead at 85-82.
